Sunni Endowments Council Chairman opens Lagoons Masjid

Chairman of the Sunni Endowments Council, Dr. Shaikh Rashid bin Mohammed Al-Hajeri inaugurated the Lagoons Masjid in Riffa Views.
Dr. Al-Hajeri also visited the three masjids in Riffa Views, the Riffa Views Grand Masjid, Al-Qaqa ibn Amr al-Tamimi Masjid, and the Lagoons Masjid.
He highlighted the importance of building masjids and its role in strengthening bonds between people and God, and among members of society.
Sunni endowments chairman praised the generous benefactors who built these masjids, praising Riffa Views Company in contributing and supervising the construction of all mosques in the area.
Dr. Al- Hajeri commended the keenness of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa to build masjids all around Bahrain, and his orders to facilitate all measures to preform prayers, noting that His Majesty has endowed many lands for this important pillar of Islam.
Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Riffa Views Company, Atif Ahmed Abdulmalik, expressed thanks and appreciation to the Chairman of the Sunni Endowments Council for inaugurating “The Lagoons” masjid, noting that the new masjid is the third to be built in Riffa Views to enable the members of the local community to perform prayers easily and comfortably.
Board of Directors Chairman of the Riffa Views Owners Association (RVOA), Dr. Mazin Mohammed Jumaa, lauded the role played by the Sunni Endowments to care for and serve masjids, stressing that the RVOA will ensure the periodic maintenance of masjids and preserve their sanctity.
Located in the Lagoon estate, the new masjid covers 3,200 square metres and can accommodate up to 150 male and female worshippers. It features all services, including water closets, an ablution area and an accommodation for the Muezzen and Imam. The masjid is also distinguished by its modern Islamic architecture which is combined with modern designs, including Islamic decoration and tall windows overlooking one of the major lakes in Riffa Views. It is also surrounded by trees and palm trees.
The “Riffa Views” Grand Masjid is the second masjid in this residential complex. The 3,319-square-metre mosque is considered a prominent Islamic monument, and was opened in 2015. Its male and female prayer areas can accommodate up to 450 worshippers. It also includes an Islamic Centre for the education and memorization of the Holy Quran that serves all social segments, citizens and residents.
The “Al-Qa’qaa bin Amr Al-Tamimi” Masjid is the third masjid in Riffa Views. It covers an area of 3,050 square metres, and was opened in 2014. It can accommodate a total of 250 male and female worshippers. Its distinct architectural design is inspired by the traditions of ancient Islamic civilization, and is named after a great companion to Prophet Mohammed (PBUH), Al-Qa’qaa bin Amr Al-Tamimi.
