Riffa Views International School hosted the 6 th Riffa Views Chess Tournament on Saturday, October 10, 2026, in a lively and competitive atmosphere with participation from different age groups. The tournament featured two categories: Adults and Under 16, and was organized in collaboration with Chess Gate Academy. This tournament forms part of the community activities organized by the Association Social Committee, with the aim of strengthening communication among residents, encouraging hobbies and intellectual activities. We would also like to take this opportunity to thank all participants, Chess Gate Academy, and RVIS for their support and contribution to the success of the tournament. Congratulations to the winners in all categories. We look forward to welcoming you again in the next edition, and better luck to everyone next time.

With reference to the ongoing Highway 96 development works being carried out by the Ministry of Works, we would like to inform you that the final asphalt layer will be carried out in front of Lagoon Entrance (Gate 2), requiring the temporary closure of the gate entrance and exit during the works. The works are scheduled from Tuesday, October 6 to Friday, October 9, 2026 . During this period, residents are kindly requested to use Oasis Entrance (Gate 1) for entry and exit , follow the traffic diversions and signs in place, and observe all safety instructions. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding.
We would like to inform you that, as part of our ongoing review of access to and from the East Lagoon area via the Royal Golf Club entrance, the Management Team conducted a site visit this morning, together with representatives from the Ministry of Works and the main contractor to assess the road conditions and the issue at the Golf Club entrance. Following the site inspection, immediate safety measures were taken, including paving two temporary lanes, providing lighting, and installing safety barriers, until the improvement works are completed. Works have also commenced to improve and widen the road shown on the attached map, with the aim of providing smoother and safer access, improving lighting, and ensuring the safety of Riffa Views residents and all road users. We appreciate your understanding and patience during the works.
Please be informed that the Ministry of Works, in co-operation with the General Directorate of Traffic of the Ministry of the Interior, announced the full closure of Highway 96, between Sitra Avenue and Avenue 49, as part of the Highway development works. Traffic will be diverted to the surrounding roads. The works are expected to be completed within one month . We therefore kindly ask residents to follow the traffic signs and diversions in place. Please also note that residents of East Lagoon (Gate 4) , as well as visitors to the Royal Golf Club , will need to use the alternative routes to access or exit the gate throughout the closure period. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding.
With reference to the ongoing Avenue 96 development works being carried out by the Ministry of Works, we would like to inform you that a number of lanes at the Lagoon Gate Roundabout (Gate 2) have been temporarily closed as part of the project implementation. Accordingly, please follow the traffic signs and diversions in place and take note of the following: When exiting Lagoon Gate (Gate 2): Vehicles must turn right only towards the Al Muaskar Highway traffic signal. When exiting Park Gate (Gate 3) towards the roundabout: Vehicles must turn right only towards the service roundabout on the road leading to Alba. To access East Lagoon Gate (Gate 4): Vehicles approaching from the Al Muaskar Highway traffic signal must follow the traffic diversion at the Park Gate (Gate 3) intersection. All Avenue 96 development works are expected to be completed by the end of October 2026. Please note that traffic diversions may change during the works in accordance with the implementation plan and project requirements to facilitate the progress and completion of the project as soon as possible. We will keep you updated on any changes or developments in this regard. We kindly ask everyone to follow the traffic diversions and directional signs in place and comply with all safety instructions to ensure everyone’s safety and help maintain a smooth flow of traffic.
